TOYS FOR TOTS 2015
Thanks to all the Kiwanis members, Boy Scout Troop 801 and BOHS Key Club, friends and family for another successful event this year. And to all the generous people of Brea for participating.
We served 115 families (300 kids) in Brea and the same for La Habra. Also toys went to kids ward at Whittier Presbyterian Hospital (30-40 kids ) and maybe 10 more at St. Jude Hospital. And best of all, Bill Murray scored the ever-popular 500 piece New Yorker Magazine puzzle. Not bad..
Santa's helpers arrived at 9 am at Brea High School, took the collection boxs and sorted the toys by male/female and age. Then took Christmas Lists that told us how many kinds in each family, sex and their ages. Then we pulled an appropriate toy for each child in the family. Many of the younger children also received a plush toy.
Each toy bag was labeled for identification and placed with a box of food provided by the Brea Community Emergency Council.
